A future-proof fibre infrastructure providing Ultrafast fibre Gigabit connectivity is now available across the town centre. In 2019-21 this network will be expanded to cover the whole of central Colchester
The network is based on pure fibre technology and propels Colchester Town Centre forward to be one of the very best connected places in the UK. Subscribing businesses enjoy speeds higher than 99% of those available across the UK and 89% across the EU.
The new service is available at the Creative Business Centre at 37 Queen Street, and is a cornerstone of future business investment in the Town Centre. The Council aspires to expand the ultrafast network to other key regeneration and economic growth zones during 2019/21, particularly the key Northern Gateway development zone adjacent to the A12.
